Q1. |
Is this product compatible with my AR-15 lower receiver? |
|
All of our upper receiver assemblies will fit on and be compatible with any standard-specification AR-15 lower receiver. No fitting or modifications are needed. If your lower receiver is made to standard AR-15 specifications, our products will work perfectly. We do not catalog all compatible lower receiver assemblies as this is not possible. We cannot confirm whether your lower receiver assembly is considered standard or mil-spec; you should contact the manufacturer to confirm this. |
Q2. |
Will this product require me to replace the buffer or buffer spring with something heavier/stronger/different/better? |
|
No, replacement of the buffer or buffer spring components is not required and they should not be replaced unless they are non-standard. Please review Question 1. Our products are specifically designed to use these particular, standard components and no others just so that owners do not have to make specialized changes to their standard receivers. Replacement of these standard buffer components when using our products will not reduce recoil, help the weapon manage the higher recoil in any way, or help the weapon cycle better. The only possible result is the failure to cycle ammunition properly because you will have removed the parts required to operate the weapon properly. Specifically, the correct buffer types are A2 in full-length receiver extensions and H2 in carbine-length receiver extensions. |
Q3. |
Can I order this product? |
|
Yes, you can. |
Q4. |
Does this product have to ship to an FFL-holder? |
|
Upper receiver assemblies are not regulated in any way by the BATFE. They are not serialized and cannot readily fire ammunition by themselves because they do not contain a fire control group. Therefore, their shipment is not prohibited by any state or locality in the United States or its territories. Please be aware of your state's regulations for certain firearms components, such as magazine capacities and muzzle devices, before ordering. |
Q5. |
How do I remove the handguard? How is the handguard assembled? Of what material is the handguard made? |
|
Please understand that we cannot directly assist customers in the disassembly of our factory-assembled weapons. Our weapon systems are designed and built to last many years without loosening or breakage of components. The handguard is made of G10 fiberglass composite material and is permanently-affixed to the barrel nut. The handguard is not made of aluminum or carbon fiber. |
Q6. |
Does the 6.5 Grendel use special AR-15 parts that are installed in special ways? |
|
Aside from the barrel, bolt assembly, and magazine, our 6.5 Grendel weapon systems do not use specialized parts. The parts are not installed in special ways. Our 6.5 Grendel weapons are built just as any AR-15 weapon is built. We do take measures to ensure that components are installed so that they last many years to come. This includes many adhesives and other materials that prevent the weapon's components from loosening during regular use. |
