Precision cut-rifled, 5R rifling, 1:8.75 fluted, free floated, stainless steel barrel. All barrels are threaded 9/16-24 RH. Direct impingement operating system. Beefy side-charging upper with extra thick walls to minimize flex with long, heavy barrels. The side charger allows a minimum of movement when firing from a concealed position. Standard build features our extended-length MK10 handguard, which is made of G10 composite material and vented to aid barrel cooling with the top vents offset from the sight line to minimize mirage. Ships with one 10-round magazine. Weight of 20-inch upper is 5.9 pounds. This unit is 100% complete and is compatible with any standard-specification lower receiver (no modifications required).

|Q1.||Is this product compatible with my AR-15 lower receiver?|
|All of our upper receiver assemblies will fit on and be compatible with any standard-specification AR-15 lower receiver. No fitting or modifications are needed. If your lower receiver is made to standard AR-15 specifications, our products will work perfectly. We do not catalog all compatible lower receiver assemblies as this is not possible. We cannot confirm whether your lower receiver assembly is considered standard or mil-spec; you should contact the manufacturer to confirm this.|
|Q2.||Will this product require me to replace the buffer or buffer spring with something heavier/stronger/different/better?|
|No, replacement of the buffer or buffer spring components is not required and they should not be replaced unless they are non-standard. Please review Question 1. Our products are specifically designed to use these particular, standard components and no others just so that owners do not have to make specialized changes to their standard receivers. Replacement of these standard buffer components when using our products will not reduce recoil, help the weapon manage the higher recoil in any way, or help the weapon cycle better. The only possible result is the failure to cycle ammunition properly because you will have removed the parts required to operate the weapon properly. Specifically, the correct buffer types are A2 in full-length receiver extensions and H2 in carbine-length receiver extensions.|
|Q3.||Can I order this product?|
|Yes, you can.|
|Q4.||Does this product have to ship to an FFL-holder?|
|Upper receiver assemblies are not regulated in any way by the BATFE. They are not serialized and cannot readily fire ammunition by themselves because they do not contain a fire control group. Therefore, their shipment is not prohibited by any state or locality in the United States or its territories. Please be aware of your state's regulations for certain firearms components, such as magazine capacities and muzzle devices, before ordering.|
|Q5.||How do I remove the handguard? How is the handguard assembled? Of what material is the handguard made?|
|The MK10 series handguard can be removed from the barrel nut simply by removing the outer locking ring and the anti-rotation device screw at the base of the handguard. See the MK10 Handguard Instruction Manual. The handguard is made of G10 fiberglass composite material. The handguard is not made of aluminum or carbon fiber.|
|Q6.||Does this 6.5 Grendel upper receiver use special AR-15 parts that are installed in special ways?|
|Aside from the barrel, bolt assembly, carrier, ejection port, and magazine, this 6.5 Grendel assembly does not use specialized parts. Obviously, the side-charging feature of this assembly is unique, but only in that the receiver ejection port is enlarged and the carrier features threading to attach the side-charging handle. This does not change the fit, form, or function of the rifle in any other way. The assembly's parts are not installed in special ways. Our 6.5 Grendel weapons are built just as any AR-15 weapon is built. We do take measures to ensure that components are installed so that they last many years to come. This includes many adhesives and other materials that prevent the weapon's components from loosening during regular use.|
|Q7.||Can I order this product without a certain part installed?|
|We do not produce or sell incomplete weapon systems. All weapons are sold as described: 100% complete, fully-functional, and fully-tested assemblies.|
|Q8.||Does this product include a bolt and carrier group?|
|As you see in the product description and other locations in the Online Store, this weapon system and all weapon systems we produce are 100% complete. We do not produce or sell incomplete upper/rifle assemblies.|
|Q9.||Will Alexander Arms® build a custom weapon, component, or option for me?|
|We do not build custom weapons, components, or options. All available products, parts, and options can be found in the Online Store. If an item you wish to purchase is not displayed, it is not produced, sold, or offered by Alexander Arms®.|
|Q10.||What level of accuracy will this weapon achieve?|
|Each and every individual assembly of this product is range-tested for accuracy by a qualified member of our staff. Each assembly is confirmed to achieve 1.0 MOA or better accuracy at 100 yards, or a 1.047 inch grouping, before being sold and shipped to a customer. Upper receiver assemblies are tested on standard-specification lower receiver assemblies manufactured by Alexander Arms®.|
|Q11.||Where did the scope mount go?|
|Beginning with the 2016 product year, this model no longer features the previously-included LT104 scope mount.|
